Corista - Offers Enhanced Capabilities Around the World

Elizabeth M. Wingard

Corista’s DP3 is a robust clinical automation tool with a broad variety of pathology lab functionality to help handle their practise. The company provides pathologists with improved skills for accepting cases from around the world, communicating with colleagues in real time on case and image evaluations, preparing tumour committees, and automating the QA process by remediation and resolution. Since its founding in 2005, Corista has been dedicated to the goal of a digital clinical pathology workflow platform that delivers speed, accuracy and ease of use that far surpasses traditional pathology workflow.

" We’ve spent tens of thousands of hours with leading pathologists, learning and collaborating to create an imagecentric, scanneragnostic digital platform for pathology "

Since Corista ‘s founding management was a core participant in the digital revolution of radiology, they learned first-hand how a digital interface would bring impressive quality and accuracy benefits to radiologists. These advances have increased the treatment and care of patients around the world. The team brought that knowledge and experience to Corista and today are applying it to the even more challenging environment of pathology. “We’ve spent tens of thousands of hours with leading pathologists, learning and collaborating to create an image-centric, scanner-agnostic digital platform for pathology.” Elizabeth M. Wingard, Founder, President & CEO, Corista. The team was challenged to provide pathologists with immediate access to the tools needed to review and collaborate on cases, regardless of where the patient is located, or the scanner used for the digital images. The organization realized that the platform must be intuitive and easy to use with built-in interoperability and security requirements as well.

Offers Most Extensive Array of Workflow

Corista provides the industry with the largest variety of pathology workflows, computational and collaboration methods. Medical centres will easily combine whole-slide, gross and static pathology images with LIS / EHRs in a single visual space. Physicians have instruments of the 21st century to interact, connect, educate and report on ‘best of breed’ image processing. Specialists can receive digital consults from remote physicians and patients from across the globe, and Investigator-initiated researchers have an R&D platform to apply their algorithms. Corista provides for a new level of interoperability for pathology, integrating WSI image scanning systems, image analytics and LIS/EHR platforms with a rich collaborative environment for physicians, patients, biotech and pharmaceutical scientists. This is Integrated Pathology™ only from Corista.

Corista’s DP3TM is the catalyst that will transform the whole slide scanner into a powerful everyday digital pathology workhorse. DP3 optimizes management of the clients whole slide images from any scanner to support workflows of key Anatomic Pathology functions such as Tumor Board & Subspecialty Conference Support, Quality Management, Expert Reviews, Digital Web-Based Portal, etc. Corista’s DP3 Private Cloud provides remote and referring sites access to the client’s organization for case and image uploads with DP3’s Image Link while ensuring the IT specialists are firmly in control of the web based activity within the data center. This model secures external collaboration and access using a fully encrypted SSL.

Corista’s intuitive Digital Pathology Processing Platform (DP3TM) will have the customers’ pathology staff easily viewing, organizing, annotating and sharing digital microscopy images from the customers own whole slide scanner – or from any referred case across the country or around the world – while dramatically decreasing turnaround time. There is no barrier to customers’ lab’s participation as DP3 easily views digital slides from any whole slide scanner and seamlessly interfaces with any laboratory information system (LIS).
